Learning how to be Smart about your Media use is about understanding about how videos and images are created. Things like how to tell the difference between real and fake media and what to watch out for. Media can include videos, images, podcasts, television and even hard copy documents like newspapers and billboards.
Not all images you find on the internet are free to use. In fact most images are protected by what's called Copyright. That means you must have approval to use the image from the person who created it.
There are different copyright licences associated with images and it's good to become familiar with them, you can even apply a licence to your own artwork. Some artists allow you to use their images so long as you don't make money from their artwork. Others are happy for you to use their image so long as you reference their name.
