There are three slides on this slide deck. Each slide has a sentence from the focus text being read on it. To complete this activity, tamariki write down the sentence they hear.
First read- the sentence is read fluently.
Second read - each word is read individually with a pause in between.
Third read - the sentence is read fluently again

Read the sentences to your child. They will repeat it and write it down. Then you can get your child to read the sentence. Finally, you could get your child to draw a picture to match the sentence to show that they understand what they have read!
