What is the Internship policy for attendance?

The Internship is to mimic the school day.  Students are expected to be at their Internship Monday through Friday for 6 hours/day.

If a student cannot attend, he/she must call the Attendance Office at MHS at 220-3150 AND call their Internship Site Supervisor to notify them of the absence.

Yes

The 4th quarter starts on Monday, April 22, 2024, therefore students will be in class for 2+ weeks of the fourth quarter.

The only grades that appear on a students’ transcript are the final grade for the course (no quarter grades.)

Grades for the fourth quarter are determined in a number of ways (final exams, projects, essays, class work etc.)  always with the recognition that this quarter is shorter than any other quarter.

What is the policy for final exams?

A teacher may opt to give a final, and if so, the exam will be given before the Internship start date.

What if there is a concern about an internship site?

Students need to immediately contact Ms. Rothman, Ms. Barnard or Mr. Madin, the Senior Internship Coordinators.  Safety and comfort level are our first concern with all interns.

What if a student is not regularly attending his/her internship?

The Internship Coordinators will immediately be in touch with the student and parent and if necessary, the student will return to MHS.

What if a site supervisor has a concern regarding behavior of a student?

The site supervisor is expected to directly speak to the student in addition to informing the Internship Coordinators.

Site supervisors will be asked for weekly feedback on their interns.

If needed, the student will be brought back to MHS for closer supervision.
