Meet Your

Media Center Specialists

The 4,300-plus K-8 students are currently served by a Media Center Specialist at each school as well as dedicated parent volunteers.

Hello, My name is Laura Napoli, I am the  Media Center Specialist at the Beebe School.  I came to Malden in 2018 as the Computer Teacher for grades 5-8 at the Beebe. Currently, I am teaching both Digital and Media Literacy and manage the technology at the Beebe. I have been working as an educator for 26 years. I hold a Masters in Instructional Technology all Levels and Digital Literacy/Computer Science grades 5-12,  as well as a  CAGS.  I love teaching all students’ at all grade levels. The Beebe is a great place to work.

When I am not working, I love sitting and walking by the ocean in the summer months, reading,  and enjoying my twin grandsons.

I'm Maureen DiNapoli and I'm the Media Center Specialist for the Linden STEAM Academy!  I'm originally from West Haven, CT., went to Emmanuel College in Boston and then decided to stay around the area. I received my J.D (that stands for "Juris Doctor" a law degree!) from Suffolk Law School and am now attending Wayne State University for my Masters in Library and Information Science.

My favorite book is Corduroy. In my off time--when I'm not reading that is--I'm usually hiking with my husband and our pup, Harbor. I love leaf peeping, all kinds of books no matter the format, and my nieces and nephew who made me realize education was where I need to be. I'm very excited to be apart of the Malden community.

Hi there! My name is Lillian Wong and I am the Media Center Specialist at Forestdale School. Although this is my first year working in the Malden Public Schools system, I was a student in Malden starting in Kindergarten all the way to graduating from Malden High School. It's truly a privilege to work with the students in our special community and I'm proud to represent the Forestdale Falcons!

Hi, I'm Sandy O'Connell and I am the Media Center Specialist for the Ferryway School. This is my first year in Malden, but I spent the last 11 years in North Reading as the librarian at a K-5 school. I went to Michigan State University for my undergraduate degree in Marketing. Then I received my master's degree from Lesley University in Elementary Education. I have a Massachusetts license in Elementary Ed 1-6 and Digital Literacy/Computer Science PreK-6.

I am proud to be a part of Malden Public Schools and honored to work with all the awesome students at Ferryway.
