Big Noise Theatre has been producing quality stage entertainment in Des Plaines for 20 years. Performances occur within the Prairie Lakes Community Center there are adult productions and youth productions.

CGS is a social, and educational organization for all members of the Transgender community, their supporters and for the benefit of the public. The goal of CGS is to provide social and educational activities for its members, the transgender community and its supporters and the general public. It seeks to promote a positive self-image for transgender individuals in the business community, in the media and the general public.

The Chicago LGBT Hall of Fame is both a historic event and an exhibit. Through the Hall of Fame, residents of Chicago and the world are made aware of the contributions of Chicago’s lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender community and the community’s efforts to eradicate homophobic bias and discrimination.

For over 130 years, Christ Church United Church of Christ has been a shining beacon of hope and acceptance in the Des Plaines faith community. Our progressive congregation is proud to be open and affirming, welcoming all who wish to join us on their life’s journey. We are a mental health awareness congregation.

The Des Plaines Public Library's mission is to be a catalyst, advocate, and place to advance the vision and ideals of our community. DPPL has been working hard for over 100 years to be an essential resource for Des Plaines. Elizabeth Treatman is a Speech-Language Pathologist specializing in Gender-Affirming Voice Therapy and Care. She can work with you to help you safely modify and care for your voice. She would love to help you find a voice that aligns with your gender and expresses who you are!

Founded in 1981, Gerber/Hart’s collections focus on the culture and history of LGBTQ peoples and additional marginalized sexual and gender minorities in Chicago and the Midwest. Open to all, Gerber/Hart serves these communities by collecting, preserving, and making accessible collection items of individuals, organizations, and businesses, as well as publicly distributed items. Additionally, Gerber/Hart provides programming and exhibitions related to items in its collections and on other topics in LGBTQ history and culture.

We provide prevention, outreach and counseling in a teen-friendly environment that empowers youth to make healthy life choices. This year we are celebrating 50 years of Response for Teens serving the diverse needs of teenagers and their families in the Jewish and general communities.

The Juniper Center is a large group private practice, with its largest location in Park Ridge, IL. The Juniper Center philosophy is to strive to understand the particulars of each client and are honored to be part of their journey. We have multiple therapists that are a part of and specialize in working with the queer community.

The League of Women Voters encourages informed and active participation in government, and works to influence public policy through education and advocacy. Membership is open to all persons sixteen years of age and older.

The LGBTQ+ Cen­ter at Ken­neth Young offers youth pro­gram­ming, advo­ca­cy oppor­tu­ni­ties, pro­fes­sion­al train­ing, and com­mu­ni­ty events through­out the year. Young adults can find oppor­tu­ni­ties for social gath­er­ings, net­work­ing, job and career sup­port by email­ing the Cen­ter and get­ting involved with our North Sub­ur­ban Pride Net­work for queer professionals.

MaineStay Youth & Family Services is an award-winning department that has been serving the mental health needs of our community for the past 46 years. Our mission is to support the growth of healthier families in the Maine Township community by providing affordable strength-based counseling and comprehensive programs focused on prevention and education.

The Maine West Genders and Sexualities Alliance (GSA) is a next generation LGBTQIA+ racial and gender justice organization that empowers queer, trans and allied youth leaders to advocate, organize and mobilize an intersectional movement for safer schools and healthier communities.

Pride! Club seeks to celebrate and promote diversity throughout campus while providing personal and social support to LGBTQ students on campus. The club works to unite the community through education and dialogue.

Out of the Closet Charity collects donations of clothing, accessories, and beauty products for transgender/nonbinary/gender nonconforming individuals from ages 8-80+. We host pop-up closets throughout the suburbs and the city of Chicago for transgender/nonbinary/gender nonconforming individuals to shop for free.

OPFMT is a DPC (Direct Primary Care) practice that brings healthcare back to the basics by removing the obstacles of conventional primary care to make your visits to the doctor easy, affordable, and accessible. Our mission is to inspire, heal, and affirm patients who visit our clinic by providing the highest standards of care to all members of the community, especially those marginalized by society.

Our mission is to build on a foundation of loving families united with LGBTQ people and allies who support one another, and to educate ourselves and our communities to speak up as advocates until all hearts and minds respect, value and affirm LGBTQ people.

The Self Help Closet & Pantry of Des Plaines runs with a staff of 70 volunteers and two part-time employees and serves more than 900 households - all in the city of Des Plaines or with children in Des Plaines public schools - with free food and clothing.

SPEAK Des Plaines' mission is to encourage community engagement so that residents in our diverse city can stay informed of current events, local government, and important issues. Through this mission we strive to create a more inclusive, equitable, and healthier community.

St. Martin's is a church welcoming all to a community of faith, worshiping in the Episcopal tradition. All = LGBTQ+ and pets! 

Youth Outlook provides Drop-In Centers, Parent and Caregiver Support and Community Education/Professional Development for LGBTQ+ youth throughout Northern IL. Our LGBTQ+ Youth Drop-In Centers meet in Palatine, Elmhurst, Downers Grove, Naperville, Joliet, DeKalb, Ottawa, Sterling and online.
