About the GSA
The Maine West Genders and Sexualities Alliance (GSA) is a next generation LGBTQIA+ racial and gender justice organization that empowers queer, trans and allied youth leaders to advocate, organize and mobilize an intersectional movement for safer schools and healthier communities.
Community Pride Event 2024
WHO: All are welcome, including allies, from Chicagoland and beyond. We will have activities for younger children through adults.
WHEN: Saturday, June 1st 3:00-7:00 p.m.
WHERE: Maine West High School D-wing parking lot.
COST: Free! If you are able, please bring cash to donate to support the event.
WHAT: A festival to celebrate the joy that comes from embracing who you are.
Including:
Games and crafts, including button, bracelet making, and more!
Live entertainment, including a Family Friendly Drag Show
Local LGBTQIA+ Support Organizations
Queer History Exhibits
GOALS:
To inspire joy and community engagement
To be inclusive, intersectional, accessible, and anti-racist
To be safe and family-friendly
To acknowledge LGBTQIA+ people past, present & future,
To include all genders and sexualities - whether or not people are out
To support local organizations and to be environmentally friendly
