Mercury Reader is a Chrome extension that will convert webpages to more easily readable format, removing ads, sidebars, and material not directly connected to the content you want to read. Click on the extension icon.

Readers with Dyslexia may find help by downloading the new Dyselxie Font. Select readable text documents and your own writing and convert to the free, downloadable font while you are working and convert back to the font required of  your assignment.

Readers who are bothered by the effects of the light on the printed page (see "Scotopic Sensitivity Syndrome/ Irlen Self-Test" under the Learning about Learning tab) may want to investigate the Irlen website where there is a link to purchase actual or digital colored overlays. Prices  range from $2 to $4, and there is a quick self-diagnostic test available. Testing is also available by appointment through the UMM Study Center (255.1264).

Grammarly is a grammar and spelling checker that is available in a free downloadable format or as an extension for Chrome browsers. It also has upgraded versions that provide more services, but the basic Grammarly  will alert you to errors and inconsistencies in grammar and spelling and will provide helpful suggestions for you to consider and make.
