UMA Professors Patrick Cheek (Social Science) and Noel Tague (English) are hosting the first iteration of the UMA Social Justice Reading Group this Spring. Each Spring semester, this group will read two books relating to a theme of social justice. The theme for Spring 2020 is Poverty, Working Families, and Educational Debt. The reading group will meet approximately four times in Spring 2020 during the noon lunch hour, beginning with an orientation and recruitment event on January 29, 2020 from 12pm - 1pm. This reading group will take place on the Augusta campus but will be available to students at other sites and centers through video conference. Lunch will be provided and the required readings will be available to UMA students for free.
