What experience (i.e. class, professor, student group/team etc.) has impacted you the most during your time at USM and why?
"One of the most impactful experiences at USM was taking applied marketing and insurance courses with Dr. Amendah and Dr. Kerr. Their classes emphasized real-world problem solving and helped me connect theory with practice in a meaningful way. Working on projects and discussions in these courses strengthened my critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills. They also encouraged me to take initiative and build confidence in my decision-making. Overall, these experiences helped shape how I approach challenges and prepared me to think more strategically in both academic and professional settings. "
After graduation, Eleanor plans to pursue a career in either marketing or the insurance industry, ideally in a role that connects both areas. She is also open to entry-level positions or internships that will help her gain experience and further define her long-term direction. Her goal is to build a stable, growth-oriented career that aligns with her strengths and interests.

What experience (i.e. class, professor, student group/team etc.) has impacted you the most during your time at USM and why?
"The experience that impacted me most during my time at USM was participating in the Career Exploration Internship Program. Through the program, I had the opportunity to intern with SoulBeing, where I gained hands-on experience in a real business environment and discovered how much I enjoy creative strategy and marketing. It allowed me to apply what I learned in the classroom to meaningful projects while building confidence in my skills. The experience was especially impactful because it led to being offered a position with the company. It showed me the value of stepping outside my comfort zone and helped shape my goals after graduation."

What experience (i.e. class, professor, student group/team etc.) has impacted you the most during your time at USM and why?
"One of the most impactful experiences during my time at the University of Southern Maine has been working on strategic consulting and operations-focused projects with fellow students and professors. These projects challenged me to apply classroom concepts to real-world business problems involving logistics, process improvement, risk management, and organizational strategy. As a military senior leader and non-traditional student, collaborating with diverse teams helped me strengthen my leadership, communication, and analytical skills in a civilian business environment. The experience reinforced my passion for operations and continuous improvement while helping bridge my military experience with my future career goals in business and supply chain management."
After graduation, Dane plans to pursue his MBA while continuing to search for career opportunities in operations, supply chain management, logistics, and risk management. Dane is particularly interested in roles that focus on operational efficiency, compliance, risk analysis, and organizational improvement in either the federal or private sector.
