Recruiting new graduates and new undergraduates
The Intelligent Systems Laboratory (ISL) was established in Fall 1997 by Dr. Wen-Chung Chang for experimental and theoretical research in intelligent control systems.
ISL was initially affiliated with National Dong Hwa University. Starting in Fall 2001, ISL was transferred to National Taipei University of Technology. Located in Complex Building Room 504-1, ISL is a well-equipped research laboratory that houses theoretical and experimental research in vision, robotics, and control. We have a KUKA five-axis youBot, a high-payload ITRI six-axis industrial robotic manipulator Q300, and a fleet of commercial (Pioneer & Dr Robot) and custom-made mobile robots. In addition, we have a variety of sensing systems, contact sensing (e.g. six-axis force sensor) and non-contact sensing (e.g. camera), employed for controlling the industrial manipulator and mobile robots precisely and developing real-time autonomous intelligent control systems. In addition, ISL has been dedicated to research on AI and deep learning architecture employed on robotics, vision, and automation systems.
Currently, ISL is working on several research projects including versatile robotic random picking and assembly system for MOST, 3D point cloud matching and inspection for ITRI, and high-precision control for medical treatment for Mackay Hospital. All students graduated from this laboratory in the past years have shown outstanding performance not only in academic institutes but also in world-wide industry. Welcome to join us for learning and doing research together.
If you are interested in pursuing your Master's/Ph.D. degrees or doing your undergraduate projects with us, you are cordially invited to visit ISL and join us. International students are especially welcome to join our group and there have been graduate students from Vietnam and Indonesia. Please contact
