Triad school districts amp up security ahead of 2022-23 school year

Three school districts within Guilford County, North Carolina are amping up school safety as they prepare to head into the school year of 2022-23. In the Guilford county schools, they implemented a new system where they will install touchless scanners as well as all security cameras being updated as well as added to places they feel are needed. In Alamance-Burlington schools, they stated they will be updating all security cameras, secure doors, and windows. They also stated they will be spending $2.7 million in order to hire full-time school resource officers that will be available at all schools. In Winston-Salem schools, they will be using a standard response protocol in order to provide a broad communication to students, parents, and staff. In all these districts goals are to keep children safe and help better ensure a safer environment for them. Taking a step towards positive change and safer places for education for all children.
