Introduction to Psi Chi/Psychology Club
All psychology students are encouraged to participate in one or more psychology-related student organizations such as the ABA Club, School Psychology Club, Healing Minds clubs, P.E.A.C.E. club, or this club (i.e., Psi Chi/Psychology Club). One can certainly join more than one club. Those who meet the eligibility criteria for Psi Chi are encouraged to apply for membership in the International Honor Society in Psychology, but membership in the international organization is not required to be an active member of the psychology club. The psychology club is the larger organization that houses Fresno State's Psi Chi chapter, and that is why we call it the Psi Chi/Psychology Club.
Participation in the psychology club is open to all pre-psychology and psychology students—regardless of Psi Chi membership. You are welcome to attend events, volunteer at activities, or help organize new initiatives.
There is no formal application process to become a psychology club member. To become an active member, consider:
Attending ongoing events (announced on social media, posted around the SCI II building, and posted on the club's calendar).
Volunteering to start or join a student committee.
During the two weeks after the Thanksgiving Break (Dec 1 to Dec 12), the Psi Chi/Psychology Club invites students, faculty, and staff to share words of appreciation through our physical bulletin boards (located on the 3rd floor of SCI II -if it says Psi Chi on the board, that means you can use it as a gratitude wall) or a set of virtual Figma gratitude boards.
These gratitude walls are open to everyone. You may post anonymously or sign your name—it is entirely up to you.
There are three themed boards to choose from:
🧡 Thank a friend or peer -> here
🎓 Thank a professor, mentor, staff member, student, or mentee-> here.
🌟 General thank-you notes for someone who may never see it but deserves to be acknowledged (e.g., a grandparent who has passed, a stranger who helped you, a parent, a childhood teacher) -> here
Take a moment to reflect, appreciate, and connect. A few kind words can go a long way.
The calendar below will include any upcoming club events or general events/dates relevant to psychology students.
