Prior to applying for medical school, your must have completed or be close to completing an undergraduate degree in ANY field of interest at your own pace. The misconception behind being a premedical student is that you have to get a degree in the STEM field and graduate in 4 years....this is false. However if you still choose to pursue a STEM degree, it has become more common for students to finish in 4.5 to 5 years.
