On May 4, 2019, the Fresno State PreMedical Club will be hosting the annual Pre Health Conference highlighting medicine within the central valley. Our conference will provide Fresno State University students, as well as community members the opportunity to engage and learn about the challenges of medicine in the central valley while exploring future careers in the area. Checkin begins at 7:00 AM, and teh confernce will end at 4:30 PM.

The conference will include the following academic workshops:

• Pathway to Medical School: Student’s will be able to network with current medical students and discuss the pathway to medical school.
• Life as an EMT: American Ambulance will present what it takes to be an EMT and describe the important role that EMTs and Paramedics play in the central valley.
• Stop the Bleed: Students will be able to take part in attempting to stop a bleed in a critical situation.
• Clinical Research: A clinical research director will be discussing the importance of research within the medical field and its importance in bettering the future of medicine
• Personal Statement Workshop: MiMentor will provide a workshop on creating a competitive and original personal statement while explaining the great resources the program offers.
• A PA’s Role in Medicine: A physician assistant will be present to discuss alternative career opportunities and their importance within the medical field.

To keep costs to a minimum, lunches will not be provided. Attendees are welcome to bring their own bagged lunch, however, there will be a lunch recess where food can be purchased on campus. Restaurants such as Panda Express, Subway, and Robertitos are open on campus.
