We are always looking for children to help us learn more about early social cognition. If you have a child between 4 and 6 years old, we would love to invite your family to participate in one of our studies!
We are always looking for children to help us learn more about early social cognition. If you have a child between 4 and 6 years old, we would love to invite your family to participate in one of our studies!
Our studies are designed to be fun, engaging, and completely safe for children. Children typically listen to short stories and complete simple activities that help us understand how young children think about and interpret their social world. Most children really enjoy participating. As a token of our appreciation, each child who participates will receive a free book.
If your child is enrolled at the Huggins Center at Fresno State or the St. Agnes Child Development Center, they may be eligible to participate in our research right in their classroom during the school day. A teacher will remain with your child throughout participation to help ensure they feel comfortable and supported. To allow your child to participate, please complete a consent form packet and return it to your child's teacher or the front desk.
Most studies involve a single visit to our lab on the Fresno State campus. Appointments are typically scheduled for 30 minutes, although the study itself usually takes only 10–15 minutes. The extra time allows families to complete paperwork, ask questions, and help children become comfortable before beginning the study.
We are happy to work around your family's schedule. To schedule an appointment, please:
