Patricia Lane, Ed.D., is an Assistant Professor of Liberal Studies and Core Faculty of the Doctoral Program at California State University, Fresno. She is also Adjunct Faculty at National University where she teaches Administrative Credential courses.
She has been in education since 2003. She obtained a bachelor’s degree in English with a minor in education from Howard University. During this time, she was on the Dean's list every semester. Immediately following graduation, she attended the University of Pennsylvania and received a master’s degree in education with an English concentration/teaching certificate. Dr. Lane also possesses a K-12th-grade administrative credential.
She has served as a junior high English teacher, a support staff member, and a school administrator in elementary and secondary school settings. Dr. Lane graduated from the Doctoral Program in Educational Leadership at California State University, Bakersfield. She is the Integrated Teacher Education Program (ITEP) Coordinator. She also teaches various educational courses within the liberal studies department.
Patricia is excited to share that she is starting new ventures. She recently joined the editorial team for the Journal of Leadership, Equity, and Research. Additionally, Patricia will be Chairing a dissertation beginning Summer 2025.
Dr. Lane's research interests include Black student excellence and resilience, Black educator perseverance, as well as culturally sustaining pedagogy and how it impacts the literacy classroom setting.
