Thanks to Jay for the overview of our AWS50K environment. Here is some of my notes:
0. Thanks to Brad for being our sponsor of the CCoP (Cloud Community of Practice) and has offered the opportunity of Linux Academy training. Please reply to the inquire email by Friday.
1. We have 3 AWS accounts: Production, Development, and Test, as:
John will oversee the change management of architectural implementation of Master Environment after architectural work is done testing at the Development account. Jay will assist with the migration. Max will work on application design within the OS level and development of additional services, i.e. transcribe, lambda, and API gateway.
2. While we are waiting for the initial development of the Streaming System, Lee will help us set up a TWO minimum configured EC2 instance with the basic NGINC server with service ports of 80/443 (HTTP/HTTPS) and 8000 (HLP - still HTTP) at the TEST account for us to experience the ELB.
3. TEST account is ready for access. Please log in through the IdP URL from Jay. It will great if someone (probably Lee) can create a Google Doc documenting what are set up at TEST environment; so, we can have a better idea on the costs. I would really encourage you to share your experiences by documenting it at the CCoP Google Site under CCoP > Labs > (subpages). For new Google Site, you can edit the site under #AWS50k 2018-19 (Team Drive) > 00 Site > Fresno State - Cloud 1st Initiative
4. Please prepare to share what AWS Services you will be interested in exploring in the next meeting -- no need for details. John will lead us through the discussion and, ideally, we can come up a more coordinated approach.
I am sure I have missed a lot since there were a lot of good discussion. Please feel free to add and reply. I am looking forward to the next meeting.
Best, Max
