• Best Practises Discussion (OS images)

Some discussion at the meeting and in Slack about best approach on OS images. Consensus is that best to use cloud-provider provided images where appropriate and depending on the needs of the project. For example, custom development may need to work with a distro that provides more up-to-date packages. If running a vendor supported application would want to run an OS they support.

• Test environment

EC2 instance creation walk-thru generated some further points to research and develop best practices for:

1. naming
2. tags
3. security groups vs network acl vs host-based fw
4. key management
