This is a year long, lab-based course that focuses on interactions among different forms of energy and matter, emphasizing higher-level mathematical relationships and reasoning. This course is intended for students who are interested in exploring Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) career or educational pathways. The pace of this course is advanced to allow for more real-world applications and field experiences. Students will also choose an extended STEM inquiry project
STEM Chemistry will be engaged in several trips throughout the year. These trips will include, but are not limited to: Eaton Lighting, Avista Oil, and Panasonic Automotive.
There are also several elective trips outside the school day: Georgia Tech Women in Technology, Science and Engineering Fair competitions, GA STEM day, and FCBOE Earth Day.
