Health & Physical Education (HPE) Adoption Committee Timeline

Please note that the following dates are for HPE Committee Members only.

November 8th, 4:00 PM

• Committee Members will be notified of their selection status

November 11th, 4:00 - 5:30 PM

• Selected Committee Members will meet to review Vendor Survey Responses and select the materials to review

December 12th, 4:00 - 6:00 PM

• HPE Committee Members will receive sample materials and review evaluation criteria

January 30th, 4:00 - 6:00 PM

• HPE Committee Members will hear from teacher committee members about resources being used in their classrooms

February 11th & February 25, 4:00 - 6:00 PM - (Please note we may have two in-person meetings)

• HPE Committee Members will complete internal rubrics for top vendors presentation
• HPE Committee Members will listen to presentations from top vendors
• Students will join the committee to listen to Vendor Presentations.
• HPE Committee Members will select the resources that best aligns to the HPE GA Standards of Excellence and submit recommendation memo to the Fayette County Board of Education or review

March 18th

• Committee will vote on the recommended adopted resources and make a formal request to BOE for the Mar 23rd BOE meeting.
• Sample Curriculum Materials will sit for display publicly in all schools and the LEC for public review. The display will include an anonymous survey link for families, stakeholders, and community members to provide feedback. The HPE committee members will review the feedback and resubmit recommendation memo to The Fayette County Board of Education for review.

April/May (TBD)

• Materials will sit for 30 days for public review and comments
• The Fayette County Board of Education will review the recommendation memo and community feedback and will vote on the proposed instructional materials

The Fayette County Board of Education is seeking members of the community to serve on the Materials Adoption Committee. The HPE Adoption Committee will be appointed by the Fayette County Board of Education and will meet to review and evaluate sample curricula materials. Committee members are carefully selected based upon their training and/or experiences in the respective disciplines (Health and/or Physical Education).
