The Donald (QRNNFF) - this ram is more of an outcross - FREAKY FRONTED...I really like that about him. He is sired by Kobra Kai and his dam is Bulletproof x Player. He should complement some of the mass we have, and contribute some elevation to the front ends of our sheep.

Going Commando

Going Commando (RRNNFD) - natural colored ram, throws super stout shaggy lambs. His sire is Drop The Mic, which we have heavy influence in our females, especially the ones from Asmus and Terpstra. The dam side is an outcross for what we have and what I like about him is his clean front end, his neck comes out of his shoulder at 90 degree angle, and the rest of him is super correct.

Sundown

Sundown (RRNNFD) - He is a Next Level x Polar Vortex x Burn...very similar to what we have in the Asmus sheep, but more extended. I really like his length and his front end as well. He is a natty color as well.

CURRENT HERDSIRES

Straight Shooter (Ace)

Ace was overall Champion Breeding Ram at the 2021 Reno Nugget All American Sheep Show & Sale . He was bred and raised by the Pettey family and we are excited to see his offspring arriving in spring of 2022! Ace's sire is a War Admiral son (Forsee) out of a Riot Maker (Hired Hand) daughter - two bloodlines we were wanting in our flock! One his dam's side, he lines up with the Pettey bred Southdowns (Wishbone Farms) that we have as our flock base.

Smoking Gun (Smokey)

Smokey is a Big Ben son bred by Pettey Southdowns. He is big hipped and thick and is adding muscle to our Southdowns.

Black Cloud

Black Cloud is sired by White Cloud (Chief son bred by Farao Club Lambs) and out of a Heavy daughter. He is the first keeper ram we have had in recent years. Super correct in the skeleton and thick made, we are excited to see his first lamb crop

Land Shark is our Ring the Bell son bred by Asmus Club Lambs. His lambs have been outstanding and have been at the top end of classes at several county fairs. Good fronted, sound skeletoned and plenty of muscle, we have a large set of his lambs available for spring 2023 fairs.

Deadeye (RRNNFF)

Thank you to the Aschwanden family for the opportunity to bring in some of the Killshot and Arms Race genetics to our flock. Deadeye will be a focal point in 2022.

Mad Hatter

Mad Hatter is a Collusion x Monster son that we just purchased from SC Club Lambs. He is massive topped, excellent in his skeleton and rib shape, and smooth fronted. We are excited to see his offspring in the Winter of 2024.

Heavy

Heavy is a "Drop the Mic" son that we purchased from Asmus Club Lambs. He is a complete ram - combining style and eye appeal with muscle, bone and athletic ability. His lambs have been competitive at county fairs in northern California.

Big Slick (a.k.a. Alan)

Chico State alumna, Jenn Terpstra, and her family recently donated ewes and a ram to the Sheep Unit and we couldn't be more excited! Big Slick continues with the Rule genetics we have been building upon, and brings in some of the powerful Beam female genetics. Can't wait to see how he lines up with our flock. THANK YOU
