Thanks for checking out my website! Below I have included information about me and my classes.
I teach General Psychology, Lifespan Development, Psychology of Gender, and soon, Queer Psychology. I've taught many more, and hope to add those to my list again soon.
I'm Maya Sen, and have been at CCSF since 2017. I started teaching full-time in 2000 at Northern Michigan University, where I stayed for years. But a person can only put up with so much snow, so eventually I moved back home to the Bay Area. It was an excellent decision. :)
I got my BS in Psychology at Lewis & Clark College, and my PhD in Child Psychology at the University of Minnesota. My specialty areas are infancy, gender development, gender identity, and sexual orientation. In my spare time, I like to hang out with my newphews (5 and 10 years old), read, embroider, and travel (someday I'll make it to all seven continents - 4 down, 3 to go!).
You can reach me at msen@ccsf.edu. I will respond within 48 hours (Mon - Fri; 9am-5pm).
My in-person office hours are Wednesdays, 10am-12pm in Batmale 334. You do not need an appointment - you can just show up. If that time doesn't work for you, send me an email and we can find another time to meet.
My three sections of PSYC 1 (in person) run January 13 - May 20, 2020. These classes are face-to-face, and so will meet in person throughout the semester. Check out the PSYC 1 (face-to-face) page (link up above) for more details.
My one section of PSYC 1 (online) is part of City Online, and runs January 27 - May 20, 2020. This class is entirely online, and so will NOT meet in person at any time. Check out the PSYC 1 (online) page (link up above) for more details and important dates.
My one section of PSYC 21 (face-to-face) is part of City Online, and runs January 27 - May 20, 2020. This class is face-to-face, and so will meet in person throughout the semester. Check out the PSYC 21 (in person) page (link up above) for more details.
