Hi! I'm Jen and I am looking forward to meeting you! A bit about me: I have been teaching English at CCSF since 2005 and absolutely love it. I’m fascinated by writing and the ways it can empower us. But the best thing about my job is working with students! I’m constantly learning from my students who show me new ways to look at things. When I’m not preparing for class or responding to students’ work, you'll find me playing with my puppy, Canela. My wife and I also love to go camping and canoeing.
My English 1A+1AS class focuses on the theme of love! Inspired by Tina Turner, our guiding question is, "What's Love Got to Do With It?" To help us explore this question, we'll be reading bell hooks' book All About Love and applying hooks' analysis in a variety of contexts.
