I started working as the CCSF Math Lab Coordinator in Spring 2002. In fall 2006, I became a full-time instructor. Since then I've taught courses from arithmetic through calculus, including Math 90 several times. Math 90 is a fun course for me.

Before coming to CCSF, I taught both math and English at the University of Colorado. I’ve also worked as a professional cook, a grounds keeper, and a house painter. In the Bay Area, I worked in the Math Lab at Ohlone College before finding my home at City College.

When I’m not working, I love to take long walks at the beach or in the mountains, climb rocks, read, garden, cook, play board games, work on my house, and hang out with my friends (not necessarily in that order).

I’m the grandson of Swiss immigrants on my mother’s side. My father’s family has been in the US for at least five generations, but we’re not sure where they came from before that. I was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana, but mostly grew up in Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minnesota. I have also lived in Colorado and Tennessee.

Today, I live in San Francisco, off Lakeview Ave., near enough to City College that I usually walk to work.
