Math 90

Hybrid Oline and Face2Face

Welcome!

Hopefully, you are here because you want to know more about Math 90 (PreCalculus Algebra) at City College of San Francsico (CCSF) and about taking it in the online hybrid format.

Most students take Math 90 to prepare for Calculus in a future semester. You might also be taking it to improve your algebra skills, to satisfy requirements for your degree or transfer, or for other reasons of your own.

In Math 90 we will be exploring a variety of algebraic topics. For more information, you can also see the course's Student Learning Outcomes (and follow links there to the official course outline).

Math 90 as an online hybrid course

In my opinion, a hybrid online course gets the best of both worlds. You get the flexibility of learning and working online, while still having regular access to an instructor and the community of other students in the class.

That said, the online portion of the course requires a different set of skills than a face-to-face (F2F) class. To assess your readiness for the online portion of the course, I strongly recommend that you take an online readiness assessment — click here to take the online readiness assessment.

The F2F part of the class is required

In addition to the online portion, we will meet once per week — every Monday, from 9:10 - 11 AM, in Wellness 103. During the first F2F class meeting we’ll meet everyone, make sure you are oriented to every part of the class, and begin doing math. In future classes, we'll be taking quizzes and tests during the face-to-face class, as well as other activities, so you need to be there.
