Google Earth™ Virtual Field Trips

Each of the Field Guides with road logs in the Fourth California Edition of McKnight’s Physical Geography by Darrel Hess, includes a "virtual field trip" in Google Earth™. You can view these field trips as a movie on your mobile device by using the QR ("Quick Response") code on the first page of each Field Guide. You can also go on these virtual field trips by using KMZ files in Google Earth™ (download these files below). When you open one of the KMZ files, Google Earth™ opens and a folder with a series of placemarks appears in “Temporary Places.” By clicking on the placemarks, you can go stop by stop through all of the Field Guide sites. Ground-level photographs are included for most field guide stops.
