Physical Geography
GEOG 1--PHYSICAL GEOGRAPHY
Physical Geography is an introduction to Earth's physical environment. The course focuses on processes and patterns of weather and climate, the development of landforms, and map interpretation. Special attention is given to the physical geography and natural hazards of the Bay Area and California.
GEOG 1 is accepted for credit as Physical Science by the University of California and the California State University system; Physical Geography meets the Physical Sciences requirement for CCSF GE, CSU GE and IGETC, and is a core requirement for the AA-T in Geography.

STUDENT LEARNING OUTCOMES
Upon completion of this course a student will be able to:
Apply scientific inquiry and investigation of evidence to critically evaluate physical geography arguments.
Communicate scientific ideas and theories about physical geography effectively.
Apply scientific principles, theories, or models to explain the behavior of physical geography phenomena.
Apply physical geographic knowledge and reasoning to human interaction with the natural world.
