Drug Wars in the Americas

(LALS 11)

Course Information

The global War on Drugs has been a major part of U.S. policy since at least the 1970s, and has played a major role in the nation's relations with Latin America. This class will examine the history of the War on Drugs in countries such as Bolivia, Colombia, and Mexico, as well as the impact of drug policy on the United States.

This class will be 100% online, and will be housed on Canvas. Please direct any pre-registration questions you have to Dr. Elkan at delkan@ccsf.edu.

Registration Policies

All students must officially add the course by the end of the first week of class. Those who are not on the wait list should use the "Request Add Authorization" function in WEB4 to ask for a place in the class. You will receive an e-mail at your mail.ccsf.edu address when I have approved or denied your request. Add codes are no longer being used.

Those who do not participate in the class for two consecutive weeks without informing the instructor of a personal emergency may be dropped from the class.
