City College has various resources to help students get textbooks for free or reduced costs:
- CCSF Bookloan allows each student to borrow up to two books per semester. To borrow textbooks, bring your CCSF Student ID card and your official class schedule to Bookloan during operating hours. Bookloan is located in Student Union 104B.
- EOPS Book Service Program is a fantastic program that gives enrolled students $400 in book vouchers each semester, in addition to other great resources (including fee waivers for transfer applications). Students must fill out an application and take it to EOPS, which is located on the back side of Smith Hall near the pedestrian bridge. Note that students must meet certain eligibility requirements for EOPS.
- Some of the Multicultural Retention Programs have their own bookloan programs. If you are a member of AASP, APASS, LSN, or Tulay, please speak with your counselor about the possibility of borrowing a book for the semester.
- The CCSF Rosenburg Library has textbooks on reserve that students can use while in the library.
- Amazon and other online retailers often have good discounts on used textbooks.
