Sociology studies the rich relationships between individuals and our identities (like you and I and how we identify ourselves), social institutions (education, medicine, the government), social beliefs (like "the more something costs, the better it must be"), and how our history shapes all of these things. In other words, it can be a very exciting and dynamic field of study.
