Hello everyone!
My name is Ms. Boswell, and I am a special education teacher here at EBC High School for Public Service in Brooklyn, New York. This is my second year teaching, and I am so glad to be part of this community! I teach U.S. History and ELA to 11th graders, and Algebra I to 9th graders.
I believe that great learning happens when students feel supported, respected, and challenged. My goal is to build real relationships with my students, help everyone feel included in the classroom, and make sure each of you has the skills you need to thrive — not just in school, but in life. That means taking reading, writing, and math seriously, because all of these skills matter for your future.
A little about what I do: As a special education teacher, I work in co-taught classrooms to make sure every student has equal access to what we're learning. I also work closely with families through the IEP process — helping to set goals, track progress, and make sure students are getting the support they need. Families, please know that you are always a welcome and important part of that conversation!
My background: Before teaching, I worked as a data analyst, so I have a strong background in technology and working with information. I am always looking for new ways to bring useful tools into the classroom to make learning more engaging and effective.
Outside of school: When I'm not teaching, you can find me birdwatching, taking care of my plants, or curled up with a good book. I love learning new things. This makes me a better teacher, because I know firsthand what it feels like to be a student!
I am so excited for the year ahead. Let's make it a great one. 🌱
