The Mu Alpha Theta Math Honor Society is a group of Mahopac’s finest junior and senior mathematics scholars.  Members are chosen through a selection process at the start of their junior or senior year and are inducted during that year. The criteria that members are judged on are: performance in Algebra 1, Geometry and Algebra II courses and on respective Regents exams, as well as by teacher recommendation. Honor society members complete student tutor volunteer hours to support fellow students in mathematics classes. The honor society supports district-wide events such as the STEAM Fair and Math Night. Throughout the duration of the school year, the honor society also participates in various competitive math competitions. Meetings are held throughout the year to support participation in these activities.
