Social Emotional Learning

Waverly Yowell Elementary School is excited to announce that we have adopted a Social Emotional Learning (SEL) Curriculum called Second Step. The elementary years are amazing years to nurture social emotional health and develop skills necessary for life-long learning. The Second Step curriculum provides instruction that is divided into the following four units: skills for learning, empathy, emotion management, and problem solving. All classrooms will be holding class meetings on a daily basis to build their classroom community where the lessons are taught and reinforced throughout the week.
