Tuesday 8/29: Students will know the convert between standard form and scientific notation form. Students will write a number in scientific notation: Put the decimal after the first digit and drop the zeroes. Monday 8/21: Students will be presented with a fraction, decimal, and percent. They will need to place them in descending order. Students will have an event about the Solar Eclipse. If you don't want to have your kid be in the event, please send the permission letter (sent out Thursday) to their homeroom teacher.

Monday Math (after school by 4:15 pm) will start next Monday. Please contact if interested by email or phone by Monday morning. Students will practice classroom work or for a quiz. Parents must pick up their student at 4:15 pm at the front office.

  • August 16 (Wednesday) : Students will understand what behavior is expected of them each day in class in addition to daily classroom routines. Students will set their personal and academic goals for the year by pre-test.



  • August 17 (Thursday) : Students will understand what behavior is expected of them each day in class in addition to daily classroom routines. Continue to review and practice morning routines- copy down HW and get signed by teacher, retrieve daily Do Now practice. Review classroom expectations of behavior using syllabus, 5 Ps, students’ skits from the previous days


  • August 18 (Friday) : Students will understand what behavior is expected of them each day in class in addition to daily classroom routines. Construct a free-standing tower using spaghetti, tape, and string.
