Fr Gregory and Matushka Mary Jensen become Orthodox in 1991 while he was finishing his doctorate in personality and religion from Duquesne University’s Institute of Formative Spirituality. He was ordained to the holy priesthood in 1996 by Bishop (later, Metropolitan) Maximos as a home mission priest for the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America and has served mission parishes in California, Washington, and Texas. After several moves for Father's ministry, in 2009 the came to Madison from Youngstown, OH for Matushka Mary's career.
With the blessing o Metropolitan ANTONY and Archbishop DANIEL of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the USA, Father was assigned as the pastor of Ss Cyril & Methodius Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Madison, WI as well as the chaplain for Orthodox Christians at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He teaches dogmatics, social ethics, and the psychology of young adult faith formation at St. Sophia Ukrainian Orthodox Theological Seminary in South Bound Brook, NJ. His scholarly work includes published articles in psychology, theology, and economics. His monograph, The Cure for Consumerism, was published in 2015 by Acton Institute, Grand Rapids, MI.
In addition to his pastor duties, he serves on the Metropolitan Council of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the USA and is a member of the Campus Religious and Spiritual Life Advisory group at UW-Madison. In recognition for than his more 40 years of ministry to young adults, Patriarch Bartholomew of Constantinople elevated him to the rank of Protopresbyter of the Ecumenical Throne.
