Course offerings for Group 2

Group 2 is recommended for students entering 4th through 6th grade for the 2021-2022 school year with little or no prior experience with course content.

Themes of these courses are paired specifically for the age and typical prior experiences for students that fall into Group 2. A topic-specific and hands-on lab-like course will be paired each week allowing students who attend either half-day or full-day programs to have enriching experiences catered to their own interests and passions. Each week of Group 2 courses will offer numerous unique challenges and themes for students who attend more than a single week.

STEAM Challenges

In STEAM Challenges, you will experience the world through the eyes of an inventor. Use tools, machines, and all forms of technology to help create your next big invention to solve our problems and save the world! Themes in STEAM Challenges affect all aspects of our lives and will be entirely new and unique each week....are you up for the challenge?

This course is available during Weeks 1-6

3D Design & Creation

Did you ever wonder how the stuff we buy is made? Who designed it? Who made it? In this course, you become the maker through the use of computer design. Create your own products that you can use every day by getting hands on with a 3D printer to manufacture your personal projects and ideas!

This course is available during Weeks 1 & 4

coding Unique Apps and Games

Have you ever dreamed of creating your own application, animation or video game? Have you ever wondered how applications and video games are made? In this course, you will experience the world of a computer programmer! In this course, you will learn to create your own unique program using blocked-based code in through Scratch.

This course is available during Weeks 2 & 5

Introduction to Real-World Robots

Robots do everything from building our cars and toys to delivering our Amazon orders and searching for danger to keep our soldiers safe. How do they work? Robots need computer programmers! Experience the world of a computer programmer by programming a robot to complete complex and dangerous missions humans can’t. Robots can’t think for themselves, the world needs programmers like you!
