Bring your script, a pencil, a highlighter, and a water bottle to every rehearsal.
Using your phone/Chromebook to look at your script is not permitted. You must bring your paper script to every rehearsal.
Dress appropriately (gym/jazz/character shoes and athletic clothing) for all rehearsals.
Rehearsals will be determined once the show is cast. But you can expect evening rehearsals from around 5:30pm-8pm until we get closer to show week.
USE THE APP! Everything you need to know is listed and updated there. Go to the Calendar, find the rehearsal on the date, and click on it to get details. Changes and reminders may also be posted in the FALL PLAY chat room, so keep notifications for that turned on as well.
Not every student will need to attend every rehearsal. We will post the list of the students who are needed on the Madison Drama BAND app. Go to the Calendar, find the rehearsal on the date, and click on it to find this information. The details do occasionally change at the last minute so please check frequently.
“If you’re on time, you’re late.” You need to be ready to start at the beginning of rehearsal, so plan to arrive at least 5 minutes early and be in the correct place with all of your materials out so we can start on time.
Rehearsals end on time. Students should not have to call anyone for a ride at the end of rehearsal, but instead should make sure the person picking them up knows what time practice ends. At least one director waits at the school until every student has been picked up; please plan to pick up your student on time, so we don’t have to wait longer than necessary.
Tech week is typically the week or so leading up to dress rehearsal & performance week. During these practices we will be running through the full show from beginning to end with stage and tech crew as if it were a full show. At this point we will be working with all elements such as set pieces, scenery, props, and lighting that are included in our show.
Tech week rehearsals will likely be held from approximately 5pm-8pm. (The exact time is subject to change.) Students are encouraged to bring snacks; we do not provide food or drinks during tech week.
Tech week rehearsals are mandatory for every student in the cast and crew.
Every student is expected to bring their script, a pencil, a highlighter, and a water bottle.
Dress appropriately (gym/jazz/character shoes and athletic clothing) because we will be running the full show from beginning to end and you need to be able to move comfortably and safely both on and off stage.
Dress rehearsals are held the week leading up to the performance (Tues-Thurs), during which we run through the full show from beginning to end with stage and tech crew. This is when we add elements such as costumes, hair, makeup, and microphones.
Dress rehearsals are mandatory for every student in the cast and crew.
Dress rehearsals are typically held Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from approximately 3pm-8pm, but the exact time is subject to change.
Dinner is generously provided either by parents (pot luck style) or donated by local restaurants. If you are a picky eater, you may need to plan to bring your own food or have a parent bring you food during the allotted dinner break.
Every student is expected to bring their script, a pencil, a highlighter, and a water bottle.
Students are expected to bring their undergarments, shoes, hair and makeup supplies, and any costume pieces they are providing for themselves to every dress rehearsal. Crew is expected to be dressed in all black starting this week.
CAST: Bring a laundry basket with your name on it! This is the best way to contain all personal belongings and costume accessories and shoes, and not get your things mixed up with others/lost/accidentally taken by someone else.

Students are expected to bring and wear their undergarments, shoes, hair and makeup supplies, and any costume pieces they are providing for themselves for every performance. Crew is required to wear all black.
CAST: Bring a laundry basket with your name on it! This is the best way to contain all personal belongings and costume accessories and shoes, and not get your things mixed up with others/lost/accidentally taken by someone else.
Students may do their hair and/or makeup at home OR at the school, but keep in mind that mirrors are limited at the school.
Costumes
We may ask students to provide some costume pieces for themselves, particularly if it’s something they already own or that is fairly inexpensive and can be worn again. Students will need to put their names somewhere on EVERY costume piece they bring from home. Exact costume pieces that students need to provide are to be determined. Students are allowed to keep any costume pieces that they provide for themselves.
Other costumes, particularly specialty costumes, will be provided by the directors.
Laundering & returning of some costume pieces may be required by students.
