I'd like to tell you a little about myself and my journey as an educator:

I graduated from Arizona State University with a degree in elementary education. I was a guest teacher in the Madison School District for 1 year before taking a job teaching first grade 22 years ago.  I taught first grade for 4 years. This will be my eighteenth year teaching 2nd grade and it is definitely my favorite!  After 22 years, teaching is still my passion. In 2016, I was honored to be the Arizona International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme Teacher of the Year. I am a fourth-generation Arizona native. I am married to my high school sweetheart, James, and together, we have two children, Emma (26) and Wyatt (22). I like to pretend that I am a farmer in my spare time even though I live right by Simis. I enjoy tending my garden and chickens that hatched right in the classroom! I am an avid reader and collector of books. I am fortunate to live and work in such an awesome community. 

 I absolutely LOVE working with the children and families at Simis and I hope it shows!
