If you haven't heard, the Madison baseball team took on the Fighting Colonels at Mexico Military Academy on April 1st. Although it was also April Fool's Day, the team's performance was not a joke. The team played in a real back-and-forth game where several plays played a factor in the 7-10 win.
Centerfielder Jake Jackson made a fantastic catch to stop the colonels from scoring. Other plays, such as captain Michael Winn with some clutch base running, allowed him to score multiple runs for the Panthers. Brady Bollman and Tanner Wood also had some nice RBI’s to put the Panthers up. Ultimately, they couldn't have done it without their starting pitcher Carson Chick. Carson pitched a great 5 innings for the Panthers, giving it his all even with a hurt finger.
I spoke to some of the players after the game, and they agreed that the teamwork was what won the Panthers the game. Jake Jackson, one of the seasoned players of the team, said, “Winning feels great”. Another player, Landon Rodgers, who may not have saw the field but was more than happy to share in the win with his team. It was a very successful night for the Panthers as the coaches say there will be more to come.

On April 17th, Madison had its decision day for the seniors. If you don’t know what decision day is, it’s a day when the seniors share with the whole school, pre-k through 11th grade, what they want to do after high school, where they are going to go to college, what job they are going into after school, and offer one piece of advice for the upcoming classes.
The link above has more information on what each student said during this assembly!
Overall, it was good to hear from our seniors before they graduate in a couple of weeks!

On April 4th, 2025, the Minecraft movie was released. The movie was a nationwide sensation, sweeping through the general population, and may end up going down as the most memed movie of all time.
The movie features Jack Black as the main star, and the way he performs is hilarious. The movie is set up with various aspects from the Minecraft game that needed to be addressed. When these elements appeared, Jack Black would say what it is in a very dramatic voice. This overdramatic pronunciation is what has made the movie boost in popularity.
Due to this popularity, trends of repeating and quoting the overdramatic sayings has become a new trend amongst the youth. Here, at Madison, you can speak to the students and hear them quote it or yell it across the hallway. Furthermore, a majority of the student population watched the movie in theaters.
The entire sophomore class watched the movie and most of them went together to watch it. It is safe to say that the Minecraft movie has been a cultural phenomenon that has united many people.

On April 26th Madison C3 had one of the favorite events of the year… Prom! This year's theme was “Meet me at Midnight” which consisted of navy blue, gold and white colors. The layout of Prom and Grand March had a little twist to it compared to past years, which personally I loved. Prom followed after Grand March where we had music, food and of course dancing.
Later, everybody that wanted to participate in after prom got their cars into a line and headed to the YMCA in Moberly. Once you got their you could put your name in for raffles, chill and eat until the games started. After a while, there were many games that you could play including: pickleball, corn hole, 3 on 3 basketball, bingo, musical chairs, as well as the pool. By the end of the night everybody won at least one item before they got to leave. At 2:00 AM everybody was allowed to go home with Casey's donuts for the drive.
