Madison C-3 School has changed once more for the 2025-2026 school year, with an even more active and determined Student Council than previous years. This year more students have the drive to help make our school better and plan more enjoyable events for the students. The first meeting for the Student Council was scheduled on September 11, 2025 with the goal of electing officers. Avery Carr was elected president, Neco Gonzales was elected vice president, Makenna Feith was elected treasurer, and Lizzy Dameron was elected secretary. Alongside the officers there are plenty of class representatives, two coming from every grade seventh through twelfth.
After officers were elected each officer was asked why they wanted to be on the council. In an interview with the new student council president, senior Avery Carr, she stated, “I wanted to be on the student council because I wanted to be more involved with my school.” Upon further questioning she explained why she wanted to be president specifically stating, “I figured I would be a good president because I enjoy taking charge of something and being a leader.” Vice president, junior Neco Gonzales, stated, “I want to be a part of the new changes in the school and try to make it a more enjoyable experience for everyone.” Next, officer Lizzy Dameron states, “I am excited to help better the school through the different opportunities that the student council is going to offer me.”
Finally, after speaking with Makenna, Feith stated that, "I wanted to join the Student Council so that I could help out the school by helping plan exciting events.” She further elaborated about her interests in being treasurer by stating, “I have always had an interest in being treasurer, as I have experience as assistant officer treasurer in FFA and I like to count.” It is safe to say these new officers and student council members have a bright envisionment for the future of Madison, and it is going to be an exciting year to see.

Coach Scott Knight is very optimistic about this year's fall softball season saying that, “there is always room for improvement.” During practices Scott is working very hard to implement new strategies further the girls softball skills and knowledge. Coach David Love is also positive about the 2025 softball season. His famous quotes said at every ballgame is, “at the hip” or “butt down, glove down.” These are very important to the players on the field because it allows pitchers to remind themselves of correct mechanics, and fielders to ensure the ball does not get past them.
The Lady Panthers competed in the New Franklin Tournament on September 13, playing Harrisburg, Fayette, and Eugene. It was a hot, long day but the ladies pushed through. Junior pitcher Lizzy Dameron was pushed to her limits throwing almost 400 pitches throughout the entire day. Junior Sienna Brush caught for all three games working hard behind the plate. Lastly, senior Avery Carr started all three games at second base and was the lead off hitter.
The Lady Panthers still have an extensive schedule ahead of them with multiple away games. Regardless of the outcome of the games, it is always positive to see our fans cheering us on at both home and away games.

Madison Tractor Pull
ByEthan Million
On the 23rd of August the Madison Lions Club hosts the annual Madison Tractor Pull. With many classes that pull, the night can run late but it sure is a blast to watch! With such a long night they wouldn't be able to do it without the Madison FFA, with their young men and women helping, it sure helps the night run smoothly.
The Madison FFA kids helped unhook and hook the pulling tractors to the sled “Ol Glory” every time a tractor would pull. The ones helping were Ethan Million, Mason Million, Carson Chick, Cooper Hartgrove, Micheal Winn, Jacob Fish, David Bollman, Tanner Wood. While the rest, Lizzy Dameron, John McNamara, Nautica Brucker, Melena Bollman, Chloe Summer, Maesyn Wayman, Monica Wahl, Makenna Feith helped run the concession stands to keep the fans happy . The tractor pull is one of the many ways the Lions Club can raise money to help keep the facility up to date.
Fall Baseball
By Wyatt Tooley
This year's baseball season is looking for a few wins; however, the team is busy not only learning to work together but also getting ready to compete against more experienced teams. The Madison Panthers started off the fall season with games every other day during the week. The team has grown since last fall, and with only 3 seniors and 5 pitchers this year, some new pitchers will need to be developed sometime during the fall and spring seasons.
The team did receive a jump start with a non-mandatory practice over the summer that the players could attend. The first game was against a conference opponent, New Franklin, which was a hard first game. While the Panthers lost their first game after being run-ruled with the final score being 0-15, their next game against BMC (Bucklin Macon County) had a better outcome.
During the first 3 innings, we got good hits and had excellent defense. Going into the 6th inning, we were down by 10 runs with the score being 7-17. We made a comeback going into the 7th inning, ending the game with the score being 13-17. The game after that was against Higbee, which is a district opponent. They put up a good fight, holding them off for a few innings. The starting pitcher threw 105 pitches, and the game ended 3-15.
