There are two primary sources of revenue at Mackintosh Academy: tuition and philanthropic support. We rely on philanthropic gifts from our community to further enhance the educational experience at Mack, provide the extra margin of excellence not afforded by tuition, and fund our strategic priorities. This community of generous donors includes: Board of Trustees, parents, grandparents, faculty, staff, alumni, and friends. Funding in the form of gifts from donors are raised through a number of initiatives including: the Annual Fund, Mack Event (formerly known as the annual auction), Parent Council, Capital Campaign, and other activities.
The Annual Fund and other fundraising efforts are a critical part of the financial model for independent schools. At Mackintosh, we strive for 100% of families to participate in the Annual Fund each year at a level that is meaningful for them. High participation inspires others and showcases the strength of our community. Every gift to the Annual Fund helps us improve daily experiences in practical ways for all our Mack learners – from specialized professional development and training for teachers, to state-of-the-art classroom enhancements, to our signature International Baccalaureate curriculum. Additional campaigns are conducted periodically when significant funds are needed for growth. Examples are construction and renovation of facilities. In addition to above mentioned efforts, each year we pursue various grants for additional funding.
