Based on the Victorian Curriculum, the Year 10 program at St Mary MacKillop College is providing you with learning opportunities and experiences that lead to the study of the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE), the Victorian Certificate of Education Vocational Major or the Victorian Pathways Certificate (VPC) in Years 11 and 12. The program also offers students the opportunity to undertake a Vocational Education and Training (VET) subject.
Reflect on your experience of Year 10 to date and think about your strengths and interests. What subjects interest you? What would you like to study in Year 11 and Year 12? Have you thought about your future pathway?
Our Pathways Team will help you with your subject selections and make sure you have chosen subjects that will assist you in the direction you want to take in the future.
Year 11 students have the opportunity to participate in one of two courses of study available to them.
The Year 11 VCE Program is based on the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) and provides learning opportunities and experiences that lead to the study of the VCE in Year 12. Students may also study an accelerated Unit 3/4 subject if they meet the criteria outlined in the St Mary MacKillop College VCE Acceleration Policy.
The Year 11 Applied Learning course supports students whose preferred educational pathway is more vocationally orientated and leads to the study of the Victorian Certificate of Education Vocational Major (VCE VM) or the Victorian Pathways Certificate (VPC).
