What should I Pack?

The weather during our fall months can be very unpredictable. One day, it could be -2 degrees Celsius and snowing. The next day, it could be sunny and +15 degrees Celsius. We recommend bringing clothes you can layer (so you can add or remove layers with the changing weather), good socks, a good jacket and warmer shoes (no sandals)

** Please only pack one large suitcase and one carry on item ** There is extra charges from your airline and SkyShuttle if you bring 2 suitcases.

We will supply one set of towels per person and bed linens.

General Packing List

• Traveling documents:

  • Passport

  • ETA

  • Printed Copy of flight itinerary

  • Offer Letter

  • COVID documents

• Money (Canadian cash can be withdrawn from an ATM) and credit/debit cards (notify the bank about your trip prior your departure) Visa and Mastercard are accepted in many locations. You must supply a credit card number for Residence to keep on hold in case of property damage (vandalism, cooking accidents, etc) during your stay. Be prepared to give this number when you check-in.

• Prescription Medicine and a doctor’s note translated into English (if applicable)

• Contact lenses with the container, glasses, sunglasses (if applicable)

• Laptop/tablet and charger (if you would like to bring them)

• Cellphone and charger (if you would like to bring them)

• A camera and charger (if you would like to bring them)

• Toothbrush and Toothpaste/ Floss/Mouthwash

• Small backpack to bring things between Residence and the Campus

• Suggested clothing items:

  • Bathing suit (indoor swimming)

  • Comfortable shoes or light boots. Most of the activities involve walking, both indoor and outdoor.

  • Gloves (can be purchased in Canada at Dollarama)

  • Hoodie x 1

  • Jeans x 2 pair

  • Light Sweater x 2

  • Long Sleeve Shirts x 3

  • Medium weight Jacket

  • Pajamas

  • Pants x 1 pair

  • Raincoat

  • Scarf (can be purchased in Canada at Dollarama)

  • Small umbrella

  • Socks x 7 pair

  • Summer hat or baseball cap

  • Toque (can be purchased in Canada at Dollarama)

  • T-Shirts x 3 or 4

  • Underwear x 7 pair

• Cosmetic items and toiletries

  • Toothbrush, Toothpaste

  • Floss

  • Mouthwash

  • Hairbrush

  • Shampoo

  • Conditioner

  • Soap

  • Face wash

  • Deodorant

  • Sunscreen (minimum SPF 30)

  • Insect Repellent

  • Makeup/makeup remover and feminine products, if you use it)

  • Razors, nail clippers, tweezers, any other daily care tools you use

• Items to Celebrate the Day of the Day: Sugar skulls, paper/plastic Cempasúchils, items for the altar, small cultural ornaments, clothing to dress as Catrinas, etc.
