Hi! My name is Nate Maretzki and I am currently a Senior in the MARC program at Marin Academy. I was drawn to the MARC program because of the freedom it offers and the incredibly unique experience it promises. Doing real STEM research as a high school student is such an insane opportunity, something I don't think I even really understood when I applied. I've always loved science, but the process of getting into a field and "catching up" on enough knowledge to understand current research always seemed like such a daunting process.
In my free time outside of MARC, I do gymnastics at the Level 10 level! On the side, I teach recreational gymnastics classes to 6/7-year-old boys at my gym. I also play bass guitar for a few bands and I'm slowly trying to learn the flute (with limited amounts of success so far). I also have three pets: a terrier named Mars, a bird named Jupiter, and a polydactyl cat named Cosmo (all pictured below).
