This article provides a good general overview of the spread of antibiotic resistance genes from manure. Although my project focuses on biosolids, it provides good insight to how antibiotic resistance genes are transferred through the soil and their environmental impact.
This article connects antibiotics to soil microbial diversity, connecting a key concern of biosolids to the functions of the soil microbiome. This article also composes other important articles related to my research and suggests possible types of antibiotic resistance genes present in different types of manure.
This article suggests that resistance to tetracycline in the soil increased with the addition of pig manure, suggesting my project should focus on the abundance of tetracycline genes.
This article uses a similar strategy to what I plan to use in my project (PCR Tests) and suggests that biosolids increase the amount of antibiotic resistance genes in the soil
