ABOUT ME

Background

My name is Jessie and I am a junior at Marin Academy High School in San Rafael. I have always had a passion for sciences and mathematics and love that the MARC program gives me the opportunity to delve deeply into a topic of my choosing. I love how I have been able to construct a project around two topics that are both interesting and important to me: sustainability and microbiology.

Motivation

I chose to take Advanced Biology last year because I have always been fascinated by the science behind life and wanted to understand more. After learning about all the ways the microbiome influences us, I decided that I wanted to formulate a research project around the health of the microbiome, specifically in the soil.
