I grew up in a small town outside of Freeport, IL and moved to Mendota about 12 years ago. I am the oldest of 6 kids, 4 sisters and a brother, and I think that is where my desire to be a teacher began! I graduated from Northern Illinois University in 2008 and taught 3rd Grade in Freeport for 7 years. After getting married to my husband, Tyler, and having our oldest son, Landon, I knew that I needed to find a job closer to home (yes, I was driving THAT much every day!). I got really lucky and started teaching 5th Grade at Northbrook 10 years ago! I love getting to work with my 5th graders every year! I recently added my ESL (English as a Second Language) certification to my degree through the University of St. Francis.
In 2012, I married my husband, Tyler. He currently serves the City of Mendota as our Deputy Chief of Police. When he's not working, he loves hunting, fishing, working outdoors, and playing sports with our boys!
These days, I spend most of my time being a mom to my two boys, Landon and Grayson. You will hear me tell all kinds of stories about them throughout the year!
Landon is 10 years old (almost 11) and going in to fifth grade here at Northbrook. He loves baseball, football, fishing, riding his bike, and video games. Landon is excited to start school again and looks forward to learning lots of math!
Grayson is 7 years old and is going into 2nd grade at Lincoln. He is my wild child and is not afraid of anything! He loves being outside, playing baseball, puzzles, and trying to do everything Landon does!
