We will spend a lot of time at the beginning of the school year talking about what respect looks like in many different locations and situations! Our goal is to be great students and great people.
We will use a three-strike system for behaviors in the classroom this year, very similar to what will be used in future grades. As a class, we will discuss behaviors that could potentially earn an “X” during the school day such as misbehavior, missing homework, etc.
If your child receives an “X”, you will see it marked in their planner next to the class period it occurred along with a short description of the behavior. Please check and sign the planner every night to stay informed. If a student receives three Xs in a day, they will receive a lunch detention, and you will be contacted. We start with a clean slate every day, so Xs do not carry over from day to day.
Students are also expected to follow the school-wide policies laid out in the Parent/Student Handbook. The handbook can be reviewed at any time in your Student Planner or on the district website.
