Hi, I'm Mimi! I am the Graduate Assistant for Initiatives in Peacebuilding through Spirituality and the Arts.

The Roger C. Dowdy and Janie Wineman Dowdy Endowment for Initiatives in Peacebuilding through Spirituality and the Arts supports my graduate assistant position in Lynchburg’s Spiritual Life Center.  My aim is to create opportunities and initiatives for students and the University of Lynchburg community to explore the ways in which the arts and interfaith traditions can collaboratively impact peacebuilding for the common good – resulting in a more peaceful and equitable society, an expansive awareness of spirituality in everyday life, and a greater understanding of the arts in religious or secular traditions and the “public square.”

In my graduate assistantship position, I assist in coordinating and promoting Spiritual Life events, build opportunities for the endowment, educate the community on various spiritual traditions through our social media, and help out in the Peace Garden: which donates 100% of all food grown to our Little Free Pantry.
