October 10 was World Mental Health Day. Mark Cloutier, CEO of Caminar, an org providing mental health treatment in SMC, discussed the importance of community-based programs, the challenges they face from recent Medicaid cuts, and how we can act to help.
Rachel Sussman, lead producer of SUFFS, the Tony Award-winning musical about the women who fought to win the vote, was joined by Dianna Wynn, President of the League of Women Voterss to share about how the women’s suffrage movement inspired SUFFS.
Suzanne Fisher, President of the Asheville-Buncombe County (NC) League, and a member of the Steering Committee for the NPV Network – which encourages Leagues across the country to work for enactment of the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact – spoke on the need to abolish the Electoral College.
